Memorialization of a loved one is a very important issue to every family. To manage that process effectively within the LMA, the Memorial Committee has been activated.
Any LMA member who desires to memorialize a family member will first make contact with the Chairman of the Memorial Committee for an explanation of the process and the current, approved memorial project(s).
Memorialization of LMA members or family members will be accomplished through donations provided for the completion of an approved memorial project. All memorial projects will be recommended by the Memorial Committee to the LMA Board of Trustees for approval.
The LMA Board approved the first project of erecting a memorial area on the beach consisting of a new flagpole, memorial plaques and bricks engraved with names of honorees. This project has been funded entirely through donations. This is currently the only form of approved memorial.
Memorial bricks may also be purchased in honor of individuals who were documented members of a Lake Mokoma organization that pre-dated the Lake Mokoma Association, so long as the procedures for obtaining a brick outlined in this section are complied with.
For information or questions, please contact Vivian Smith at 570-932-1730 or via email.
A minimum donation of $100 is suggested. If you wish to contribute, please send a copy of the donation to Lake Mokoma Association, PO Box 132, Laporte, PA 18626. Please make all checks payable to Lake Mokoma Association.
Forms may be obtained from the LMA office or by clicking here.
Please consider purchasing a memorial brick for the patio area at the foot of the beach flagpole. It is a great way to honor a deceased LMA member or the deceased child of a LMA member.
Previous donations have been used to install the new flagpole, memorial patio, and landscaping. Future funds will continue to be applied to important projects in and around the beach that benefit our current and future members.
Thank you for your generosity.
